Today we discussed the Pacific Theater in WWII and looked at the Japanese military mindset as seen during the Bataan Death March. We also discussed the significance of key battles in the island hopping campaign.

Today we discussed the European theater in WWII. Students then had time to work on the Bataan Death March reading that was handed out yesterday.

Today students worked in their table groups to learn about conditions for minorities in the United States during WWII.

If absent, read the sections indicated and answer the questions for each minority group. Be sure to answer the connection questions at the bottom.

Today we introduced our second semester research project. Students then had time to work on their Found Poem.

On Thursday, students will have time to do some basic research. The goal of this research is simply to choose your topic/language lens for the paper.

Today we watched Rabbit in the Moon, a documentary about Japanese Internment. Students took notes to use for their Found Poem.

Today we finished our discussion on the U.S. entry into WWII. You can ignore the slides about the found poem. The correct directions are on Mrs. Cossano's website.

Today we began debriefing our WWII timeline. If absent, review the notes below. Make sure you understand what each neutrality act was in response to, what it did, and what loopholes it contained. Then add the new items to your timeline. (Today would be a good day to check a friend's notes as well).

Today we took our Great Depression Quiz. If absent, you have been assigned to Mrs. Santos' flex time on Tuesday 2/4 for a make-up. If you would like to schedule a different time (Wednesday flex or before/after school) please email Mrs. Santos.
