5/6/20

Today students should read the document linked below and answer the questions. Inspired by the African American civil rights movement, other minorities worked to increase their rights as well. Yesterday you learned about the fight for Chicano rights, especially among farm workers. Today you will read about the push for Native Americans known as the American Indian Movement as well as attempts to gain land. Submit to Tii by 10pm when finished.

This should not take the full 50 minutes. When you are finished, you need to sign up for a small group discussion time for Friday. You can see requirements for the discussion on Friday's agenda. This will be graded similar to a student graded discussion except that Santos/Cossano will be doing the grading. Think Socratic style but low pressure.

For today, click on the Google Doc link below to sign up for a group. You can choose by group members or by a time that works for you. Any group is welcome to change their meeting time, as long as the entire group agrees. Just email Mrs. Santos. This needs to be done no later than Thursday by 3pm or you will be assigned a group. Santos will send out a Zoom invite to each group for their discussion time. If you are unable to make any of the times work or have technology issues, please email Mrs. Santos or Mrs. Cossano.

Do not change times in the sign-up without prior approval from Santos.
